So much love today for my beautiful, resilient city. Boston is the best place in the world and the only place I will ever call home. This is a sad day, a hard day, a day that we will wish to forget and will not be able to. But this day will not define us. Boston is a place imbued with history and eccentricities, a place where we embrace progress and eschew convention. Maybe we’re a little quirky. We are a place where people (not professional runners, just your neighbor, friend and teacher) finish a grueling 26.2 miles and keep running to the hospital to give blood to the injured. Isn’t this a beautiful world?
On this Patriot’s Day the words of MLK Jr. come to mind “hatred paralyses life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it.” Be the light of the world.
A bit of wisdom from an inscription on a desk in the library.
